FCCSA will be present as a sponsor of another edition of LARTC (Latin American Refining Technology Conference), which will be held from September 8 to 10 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In this edition, the program will cover strategic topics such as energy efficiency, operational flexibility, decarbonization, artificial intelligence, and the competitiveness of Latin American refineries.
FCCSA will contribute to these discussions through the participation of its experts in panels, technical presentations, and workshops, sharing experiences, innovative solutions, and practical cases developed to meet market demands.
Check out FCCSA's schedule for the event:
Leadership Panel
September 9 | 9:30 AM (Argentina Time)
Luiz Eduardo Valente, Director General of FCCSA, will participate in the Leadership Panel "Refining at a crossroads: who wins and who falls behind in Latin America?". The debate will bring together industry executives to discuss how factors such as oil market volatility, different regional regulations, refinery infrastructure, and increasing demands for decarbonization influence the competitiveness of refining in Latin America. The session will highlight how strategic decisions related to investment allocation, operational resilience, and regional integration will be decisive for the future of the industry.
Technical Lecture
September 9 | 2:05 PM (Argentina Time)
Adilson Gutierres, Technical Advisor at FCCSA, will present the lecture "Overcoming the challenges of Iron within FCC Units with advanced catalyst solution ". The presentation will address the impacts caused by the presence of iron and other contaminant metals in the FCC unit feedstocks, as well as the catalytic solutions developed by FCCSA to minimize these effects, contributing to greater operational stability, unit performance, and refinery profitability.
FCCSA Workshop
September 10 | 9:35 AM (Argentina Time)
FCCSA experts will conduct the workshop "Integration of catalytic and operational solutions to overcome challenges in the FCC unit", which will present case studies and practical experiences on some of the main challenges faced by refineries.
Among the topics that will be covered are:
• Classical contaminants at FCC units: specific catalytic solutions to mitigate the effects of vanadium, iron and nickel;
• Maximizing diesel at FCC units: Operational adjustments and specific catalysts for diesel maximization;
• Circularity and sustainability: catalytic solutions for renewable feeds in refineries and for the conversion of plastics and elastomers into products with combustible properties.
We look forward to seeing you at LARTC 2026 to discuss the future of refining in Latin America together!
