On 6 and 7 May, Fábrica Carioca de Catalisadores S.A. (FCC S.A.) participated in the LARTC: Ask The Experts 2025 (ATE), held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The conference aimed at gathering refining sector professionals to debate technical issues, share good practices and discuss innovations applicable to the challenges faced by refineries.

During the event, FCC S.A. addressed one of the most relevant subjects of the Latin-American refining scenario: the iron content increase in the feeds to be processed in the refineries. This feature, which is being intensified in the last few years, represents a significant challenge for the FCC units, due to iron being a contaminant directly impacting cracking catalysts activity and selectivity.

Aiming at providing efficient solutions for this scenario, FCC S.A. participated in the session “Experts in Action”, directed by advisor Eliza Diamante, who introduced Technologies directed to high iron content feeds processing.

The UPGRADER, DENALI families besides the most recent launched product — SaFeGuard™ were highlighted, those being high-accessibility catalysts developed to provide superior resistance to elevated added iron concentrations.

Besides technical features, commercial test results demonstrating the solutions performance before the challenges presented by contaminated feeds were shared, strengthening the FCC S.A. position as Latin American market reference in high-iron resistance catalysts.

FCC S.A. participation further included a panel directed to FCC, promoting exchange of experiences among sector experts and consolidating the company commitment with refining technological advancement for the region.
