In August, Carioca Catalyst Factory promoted graduation events of all the integrating team of the Operators Certification Program, considering a mark in the company’s history and a good practice that may set an example for Persons Management in many industries throughout the country.
Elaborates between 2004 and 2005 and applied between 2006 and 2007, the Program came from the factory’s need to attract new operators in a scarce market and improve the technical level of the areas effective, taking under consideration the particularities of its productive procedure. Thus peculiarity demands specific training and a very comprehensive formation of the teams, granting a standard industrial operator profile, able to generate and excellence performance.
Even relying on the previous qualification of the Operation teams, that, in many moments were trained and qualified to exercise specialized works, the Carioca Catalyst Factory decided to invest in the improvement of its operators, considering the world tendencies and the increase in the technological changes speed, improvement of the quality standards and the arise of new market requirements.
The Certification Operation contemplated the two distinct milestones the first directed to the attraction and qualification of 17 new professionals in the market (developed in 2005) and the other directed to the improvement of the teams in activity in the factory (applied throughout 2006). During the planning phases, that counted on the substantial choice of the responsible consulting for the course, and execution of the works, the certification work used Project Management methodology (Project Management Institute – PMI). The object was to demonstrate the effectiveness and the return over the performed investment (ROI), creating an delta over the previous situation and the result shortly after the project implementation.
The Operator Certification Project served as base and provided transparency and objectivity to the re-lining process of the Positions and Remuneration Program of FCC S.A., as well for the Performance Management System. Through such, it became possible a more clear and balanced evaluation of the Operation Teams, aiming at the growing of persons and the continuous improvement of procedures and results. The Implementation of this Program allowed that the positions structure of the Operation was reviewed, creating a clear perspective of the career evolution and criteria for development and performance, including the establishment of impact levels and criticism for every work position. Besides, he integrated and multidisciplinary structure of the Program was carefully turned to the companies’ needs, involving participation and the commitment of several areas, such as Operation, Maintenance, Process engineering and Human Resources.
The Operation Certification will keep the effectiveness evaluation of the trainings, analysis of the learned lessons and will be consolidates as a permanent attraction process and development of the operators. The Operators Certification Program is a pioneer job in FCC S.A. and an example of Persons Management substantially lined to the business perspectives, aiming a jump in trust and in quality of the productive process.
