São Paulo, Fabruary 22 2006. Fábrica Carioca de Catalisadores (FCC S.A.), the only Plant in Latin America producing Fluid Cracking Catalyst (FCC), one of the main consumables used by oil refineries, and Ultracargo, a company providing logistics solutions for storage and transport of special cargo, have just expanded their partnership.
FCC S.A. invests continuously in research and development in order to produce catalysts of high accessibility and environmentally correct additives that reduce sulfur content in gasoline (for the benefit of end consumers) and control atmospheric emissions at its client refineries.
Since the beginning of January, Ultracargo has been responsible for the entire logistics process, which includes receiving raw materials (both liquid and solid), packaging finished products (catalysts), in-plant handling, inventory control, bulk shipping, issuing invoices and managing the transport, handling and inventory of stored products, as well as all the reverse logistics. In total, there are 23 individuals working with the South American FCC market leader located in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
The expansion of the partnership with Ultracargo, which began 7 years ago, with the transport of bulk materials, bears out FCC S.A.’s strategy geared towards obtaining operational and financial gains.
“I expect that, by assuming the entire process, Ultracargo will be able to narrow its focus to FCC S.A.’s customers. This will help us develop solutions with more value for FCC S.A. and its customers”, says Paulo Emílio Chaves, FCC S.A.’s Integrated Logistics Manager.
Fábrica Carioca de Catalisadores S.A. is an international technology company that produces and provides solutions in catalysts and additives for the oil refinning industry.
