We invest in improving our operating results in the environment, by eliminating or reducing environmental impacts to the utmost.
Because of this concern, we have recovered the entire area of environmental liabilities, and, since 2000, we have a forest reserve, which annually produces thousands of seedling of various species of the Atlantic Forest and fertilizers with gardening parings and rests of food preparation from the canteen. From an entirely organic agricultural mode, the production of Horto FCC S.A. is used for gardening and feeding employees and donated to communities from the surrounding areas and from neighboring cities to recover degraded areas. To complement this responsible initiative, Environmental Education Workshops are promoted, which focus on recycling, preservation of the life of soils and organic production.
We work geared to reducing the consumption of renewable and non-renewable resources. We are one of the pioneering companies in the creation of an industrial pole committed to the Environment – the Ecopolo of Santa Cruz Industrial District – for exchange of experiences that provide synergy of actions among companies.
Our concern with the environment is based, also, on the concept of co-efficiency, whose objective is to establish interactions with other companies, so as to meet the environmental and economic demands of Fábrica Carioca de Catalisadores S.A., as is the case with the adequate destination of all our residues and constant investigation of solutions, which can optimize processes and reduce environmental impact. It is based on this intention that, since 2005, we have a Selective Collection Program.
